Grenada House Tour

In last week’s post, I shared with you the exciting news that we finally found an apartment in Grenada! Here’s the floor plan that my hubby drew and sent to me again:

It’s a small space for sure, but it’s cozy. Rumor has it, the landlords are fantastic too! The hubs said it was the first time he ever signed a lease with a beer and mango in hand! Too funny.

Just like all other rentals, we cannot alter the space. I’ve asked if I can paint, and I am waiting to hear back. I think paint would definitely make a big difference in the homey factor. Otherwise, I will think of something else. 🙂 Also, all of the furniture is already there, which is a huge plus when you’re moving to a tiny island where the vast majority of items are imported.

Okay, so here we go!

Our Grenada Home:

Open the door and step into our kitchen:

Walk and peek in the corner and you’ll see our eat in kitchen area:

Turn around to see the huge desk that’s just perfect for my sweet hubby:

Okay, that’s it for the common living area! Short and sweet, right? Next, open the door behind the desk and enter our bedroom:

With our closet:

and our bathroom:

And the best part, the view before you walk in our apartment door:

It will definitely take some planning to figure out how to make it our perfect second home. But, I have every confidence that it will work out.

The challenge is that there is no Target, no Michael’s, and no Hobby Lobby in Grenada. Everything will have to be thought out a bit, but if you know me at all by now, I will find a way! Can’t wait to move in on August 9!

Have any design ideas/advice for me after seeing these pics? By all means, do share!

  1. pack a mini glue gun and lots of glue sticks… I have found that hot glue is the answer to most things!

  2. Holy. Camoly. That is a teeny space! But I’m sure you’ll make it work. And not having a Hobby Lobby or Michael’s will be the perfect opportunity to check out the local shops! =) I can’t wait to see what you do with the space.

  3. This is adorable! I’m so excited for you guys … and excited to see how you transform it into your own 🙂

  4. It’s tiny, but it will be really sweet and cozy! Do you have any outdoor living space at all? If you do, then your “living room” could be outside.

  5. That’s really nice. Yes, it does look cozy and sweet. It’s not the size that makes a home. It’s the heart. Good for you for finding it.
