Writing Wrap Up & Around Grenada in 5 Days

Hi Blog Peeps! Welcome to another writing round up. I hope you enjoy the pictures of Grenada below.

Grenada/Life Update

I mentioned last week that I was working on a new project during the month of June at my day job. This project involves going all around the island, so I’ve seen some really cool stuff this week. It’s been really fun (and pretty exhausting!) but I’m glad to have the opportunity. You can follow me on Instagram if you want to see more pics this month as the days go on.

Early this week, I met Kirani James‘ mom, so that was fun. Kirani James is Grenada’s first Olympic gold medalist. They renamed just about every street after him. 🙂

It was early, but it’s hard to be sleepy when you can look at such a pretty view. 🙂

A quick afternoon trip the beach.

I have to say, yesterday afternoon’s schedule was pretty rough at work. See the evidence below.

I also visited the nutmeg factory in Grenada this week. I wish this picture was scratch n’ sniff, because the smell was absolutely amazing. Also, I wish I could show you how fast these women were working. Seriously hustling. They get paid a wage of $14US per day (and the men get around $16 per day – go figure) Seeing as I spend that going to buy two smoothies, it was quite a humbling experience and a reminder of how lucky we truly are.

    1. Apparently, he’s a really nice guy! And his mom was sweet!

  1. great pics! It looks a bit cloudy, has hurricane season started? We got a quick one last night, but thankfully were prepared. Thanks for the mention!

    1. Yes, I know! It’s rainy season! We’ve had a few bright spots, but they haven’t been too frequent!

  2. Grenada is so beautiful. What a fun project to work on! Right now it’s gray in SoCal (always is in the morning, aka June Gloom) but the sun will be out by this afternoon. Hopefully, we’ll be able to squeeze in some beach time this weekend too.

  3. That’s awesome that you checked out the nutmeg factory and I bet the smell was amazing. Grated fresh nutmeg is a must in our house. Thanks for sharing your experience and photos.
