This is {Wherever} Wednesday #11

There is a saying down here that goes a little something like this: “T.I.G.”

It stands for “This is Grenada.”

It’s used in moments where you just kinda shake your head at the things going on around you like someone climbing up a coconut tree or when something takes exceedingly longer than it should.

I think all cities or towns have a “T.I.{insert your town}” moments. To me, this phrase can be used for things that are pretty hilarious or can be used to notice some good around us.

I like to encourage others to look for these moments no matter where you live, which is how This is {Wherever} Wednesday came about. So feel free to link up your story at the bottom of the page. Also, please don’t forget to link back to my blog. It’s only polite. 🙂

Here is my favorite story from last week:

My friend Laura linked up a ridiculous story. Basically, while she was driving her car here in Grenada, dozens and dozens and dozens of baby spiders started coming out of the air conditioner. She said it was basically like a horror film. T.I.G.

As for my TIG’s this week, I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves…

  1. Beautiful pictures! Ahhh! Those spiders sounds like a nightmare! I’m shuddering just thinking about it.

  2. I have a “This Is Baton Rouge”….. during third quarter of the LSU v. Auburn game this past Saturday in Tiger Stadium, the entire stadium began chanting “We Want Bama”. I promise no one else does this because nobody else actually wants to play Alabama.

  3. Shut the front door… for two reasons.
    1) Those pictures. I. NEED. TO. VISIT. GRENADA! The beaches look ridiculous and you must feel like you are living in a dream sometimes!! Or all the time?? I think I think that even more because I *swear* I was supposed to live somewhere really warm. I think that’s my destiny!! haha.. okay… I’m a loser but seriously – I love beaches.
    2) The spider business makes me want to cry. If that happened… I don’t even know what I would do!!!!!!!!!! I’m with Whit… that sounds like a nightmare! Now I think I’ll dream about it tonight so it really WILL be a nightmare.

And here’s the thing… I keep thinking I am going to do my This is…..
But I have had some bad luck with internet stalkers (that’s a whole ‘nother post!) so I’m scared to do it!!! And trust me… I HAVE stories. I’m just trying to figure out how to do the post without totally identifying where I’m at.

    Okay. That’s my story!!

  4. I am going to have to email you about the crazy stalker… it’s story that spans over the course of about two years!!! Seriously, this person was CUCKOO!!!

Oh and you’re going to have to tell us about the bucket of water in the washing machine… that’s how you have to do laundry?? Oh geez!

  5. What beautiful photos! Baby spiders make me shudder, and I’m not even scared of spiders (usually). When I was a kid, I started wheeling my bike out of the garage, and these baby spiders started pouring out of the wheel. I screamed and ran away. The next morning, when we opened the garage, there were spider webs everywhere. Gah. Shudder.
