This is {Wherever} Wednesday Linky Party #4

Welcome to the fourth week of the This is {Wherever} Wednesday Party! For anyone new to the blog, this is the par-tay where we chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly in the places we live.

I’m so fortunate to live on the Caribbean Island of Grenada, but it’s not without its quirks. Here, when something doesn’t go as planned or is just plain bizarre, we say “This. Is. Grenada.” or “TIG” for short. I know you have your own “TIG’s” wherever you live, and I want to know about them! Good deeds that you see count too!

Here is my favorite submission from last week:

Jenn from A Home in the Making submitted gorgeous pictures of NoPo, “Northern Portland.” The coolest part of her morning commute? Passing by this giant statue of Paul Bunyon in all his 31 feet of greatness.

And, here are mine for this week:
We went to bed peacefully Saturday night, and woke up Sunday to a total. ant. takeover. There were ants covering our food in the cabinet. They were in our sugar, in our peanut butter, in our cereal, etc. We threw away tons of food and poisoned those suckers. TIG.
My friend was working at the hospital and took care of a patient who had been rammed by a goat. TIG.
In exchange for completing the good deed of cleaning up seaweed on the beach, my hubby and his friends have been granted a pool day at the University Club. TIG.
A few days ago, I decided I wanted brownies (Really, I just wanted the chocolate sauce, but you understand that, don’t you?). I kept checking on them and checking on them, and they wouldn’t cook. Finally the hubs realized what I didn’t: The gas tank connected to our stove was completely empty. TIG.

  1. Thanks for featuring my little post :). I laughed out loud at your TIG’s this week … I love that you have a sense of humor about all this 🙂

  2. TIG, I love it! Our “TIG” type things in DC usually have to do with the weather. Massive storms followed by a 90-degree sunny day.

  3. TIG from my town– the big crime news in the paper was that a customer at a bridal shop got angry when her dress didn’t fit and yelled at the shop owner. 🙂

  4. Never mind…I forgot I actually HAD something I had meant to post. It’s Thursday now but hey…
